Build Your Voice & Develop Healthy Vocal Production
Singing Voice Rehabilitation
Are you frustrated by unreliable and inconsistent results in your singing?
The human voice has an amazing capacity for communicating emotion and creativity. But when it's hampered by a poor technical foundation or wear and tear on the instrument, the singer can become deeply discouraged, and the message is lost.
For singers who have been treated by a medical professional, Singing Voice Rehabilitation begins once your physician has cleared you to return to vocal studies. But many singers who have never had a medical issue also benefit from this approach.
My goal is to help you build firm foundations for your voice and improve your vocal health and longevity. I use strategies that come from both traditional methods and emerging voice science. These strategies are effective at revealing and isolating problem areas and are highly therapeutic.
Throughout our time together, you’ll see your voice steadily reshaping itself as we identify and change the habits that inhibit healthy vocal production. You’ll gain confidence in the process as you build your skills, and you’ll find increasing enjoyment in your singing as you achieve your vocal goals.
Voice rehabilitation students come to me with a variety of challenges, including:
Vocal strain and fatigue after long rehearsals or performances
Hoarseness in their voice after a public speaking engagement
Lack of clarity or "ring" in their voice quality
Inability to sing at a stronger volume level
Limited vocal range
Inconsistent or chaotic vibrato
Voice "cracks" that sabotage high tones
Here’s How I’ll Help You
You’ll start to feel a difference in your singing within your first session.
Voice Assessment
Training starts with a full assessment of your current skill sets. We'll discuss your specific goals for voice study and identify weaknesses and areas for improvement. Then, I'll prescribe specific training goals to begin addressing any deficits.
Voice Training
Training continues with the development of tailored routines to steadily target and address specific vocal issues, re-integrate these new skills into a holistic framework, and increase strength and coordination throughout the entire voice. In this way, we "build" a voice that's dependable and strong.
Healthy Vocal Production
From your first session, you’ll begin to understand and experience your voice in a new way. You'll use the systems of voice production in a way that professional singers rely on to ensure a consistent and dependable performance every time. While many singers have a preferred style that they cultivate, this approach equips the singer with the tools and knowledge needed to explore all sorts of musical styles.

“When we accept random assumptions about how the voice works and fail to require these assumptions to 'prove themselves', they become the weak links in our technique — the voice becomes vulnerable and undependable.”
